2020 Instructor
Students will have the opportunity to acquire a “taste” of teaching by observing teachers of all levels of students and by researching and observing other teaching opportunities such as those in the area of corporate training and extension services.
2020 Internship
This course will allow students to take the information acquired and skills developed in 2020 Instructor and carry them into a real-life, hands-on relationship among teaching peers, students, and administration. Students in this course will exit with similar skills and portfolio credentials to those of students in collegiate teacher education preparatory programs.
Educational Technology & Gaming
This course will explore educational technology through the latest research and will provide opportunities for students to work with teachers and students to substantiate the power of technology, specifically gaming, in education. Students will collaborate with teacher education and technology professionals at the University of Kansas and Emporia State University and will partner with professional education organizations. As a critical part of this course, students will communicate with educational professionals and mentors via Skype, Twitter, and NING. Students will use various gaming software and sites including QUIA, BrainPOP, Second Life, and Teen Life.
