The first week back from Spring Break has been busy! Students are beginning to focus on culminating activities and while the form varies by strand, there is a sense of urgency throughout CAPS. You can follow the progress in the individual course updates which are now located under the section for each course. This week CAPS partnered with the Women’s Business Center to serve as local co-host for InnovateHER: 2015 Innovating for Women Business Challenge. InnovateHER is sponsored and supported by the U.S. Small Business Administration and addresses the needs of women and the role they play in America’s economy. InnovateHER provided an opportunity for our students to sit on the other side of the table as they evaluated pitches and offered feedback. There is much left to accomplish before the end of the quarter. Stay tuned as we continue our race to the finish. Jennifer Collet Business Development Specialist

Mason Wilkinson Mason began his career in bioscience when he enrolled in Honors Freshman Biology. That course ignited his interest in cellular and molecular biology. From there he enrolled in the Molecular Medicine and Bioengineering course at CAPS, working closely with instructor Eric Kessler. Mason aspires to a career in biological research dealing with cells or viruses. He is most interested in developing novel treatments for diseases by studying their mechanisms of pathogenesis, hoping that such research may lead to the creation of new, effective medicine.
